The rules have been reviewed in regards to Championship points and they provide no clear guideline as to their application. Therefore, we have no choice but to revert to our historic application of counting all points towards a Championship. Whereas we understand the “spirit” of the rule, with no clear direction we cannot apply it.

The Championship points will be corrected and updated by Tuesday.

As far as any individual staff members influencing the application of the rule, this is just not true. Human error in writing and these rules and thus interpreting them lead to the confusion.

We do apologize for any confusion and will clarify and correct the language in all future publications.
